Product Description
Sliding Microtome Model RMT - 45 is a standard sectioning instrument especially designed for Research Laboratories for cutting sections of paraffin as well as celloiden embedded
specimens.
Sliding Microtome is having the advantage of vertical object feed by Micrometer Screw and Cylinder so rigidly held that perfect immobility under the knife is ensured, even when cutting relatively large, hard and in homogeneous
specimens.
The heavy knife block mounted on slide ways can be actuated entirely by hand.
The Microtome comprises of a stable heavy cast base stand on a precise sliding track over which slides a sturdy knife holder. Its smooth and
efficient operation has a great advantage of vertical object feed. The object holder has rapid vertical adjustment by means of a lever mechanism. Placed below the object holder is a drip pan for excess alcohol or water.
Its knife holder rigidly supports a 120mm knife made from imported fine grain
hard tool steel, which ensures accurate sectioning not only of soft tissues but
also harder materials such as stem, root and other objects etc. Sliding Microtome is
recommended to the labs where sections of fairly large specimens are required.

Precision Section Thickness AdjustmentThe RMT-45 allows users to select section thickness from 1 to 50 microns, providing versatility for a wide range of laboratory applications. This precision ensures high-quality, consistent slices suitable for various research needs. The manual scale display offers accurate and clear settings, enhancing usability and confidence during operation.
Durable and User-Centric DesignConstructed from die-cast materials and protected with corrosion-resistant paint, the Sliding Microtome RMT-45 is built for long-term use in demanding laboratory environments. Its heavy grooved base plate enables steady, controlled sliding, while ergonomic features such as the precision lever mechanism and lateral knife adjustment simplify sectioning tasks.
Ideal for Research Laboratory ApplicationsThe RMT-45 is tailored for institutions requiring reliable sectioning of biological specimens in research laboratories. Its accurate cutting mechanism and adjustable features make it particularly useful for both routine histology and advanced research studies, catering to the needs of manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, and distributors in the scientific field.
FAQs of Sliding Microtome RMT-45:
Q: How does the Sliding Microtome RMT-45 enable precise section thickness adjustment?
A: The RMT-45 features a manual adjustment mechanism, allowing users to select section thickness between 1 and 50 microns with high accuracy. This flexibility ensures suitability for a variety of specimen types and research requirements.
Q: What is the main benefit of the precision lever specimen feed mechanism?
A: The precision lever mechanism enables smooth, incremental advancement of the specimen, ensuring uniform sections and reducing user fatigue during extended cutting sessions.
Q: When should I use the lateral adjustment feature of the knife holder?
A: The knife holders lateral adjustment is beneficial when you need to reposition the knife edge, helping to distribute wear evenly and extend the knifes lifespan during prolonged sectioning tasks.
Q: Where is the Sliding Microtome RMT-45 most commonly used?
A: This microtome is ideally used in research laboratories, histopathology departments, and institutions where routine sectioning of biological specimens is required for microscopic analysis.
Q: What is the process of cutting sections with this microtome?
A: To cut sections, the specimen is mounted in the object holder and positioned using the precise feed mechanism. The user selects the desired thickness and, by sliding the knife along the grooved base plate, slices are cut smoothly and efficiently.
Q: What materials are used in the construction of the RMT-45, and how do they benefit the user?
A: The RMT-45 is constructed from die-cast materials and finished with corrosion-resistant paint, ensuring overall durability, stability during operation, and a long service life even in demanding laboratory environments.
Q: What advantages does manual operation provide for laboratory users?
A: Manual operation allows for full control over sectioning, immediate adjustment of parameters, and does not require an external power source, making the RMT-45 a reliable and accessible tool for diverse laboratory settings.
